Is clasping hands in prayer an imitation of ancient civilizations like the Sumerian, as some claim?

This method of casting doubt on religion is intellectually and logically weak for several reasons:

Firstly: Bodily movements are limited, and accidental similarities within them do not imply intentional borrowing. The posture of clasping hands in prayer is one of a limited number of options for hand placement, and it is logical that it would be an accidental, not an intentional, similarity.

Secondly: Previous religions and civilizations contained remnants of the true religion revealed by God. Therefore, the similarities between Islam and those civilizations result from one common divine source. Islam is an extension of the messages of the prophets, not separate from them.

Thirdly: The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was unlettered and a product of his environment; he did not travel or become acquainted with the news of ancient civilizations. Thus, the claim of borrowing is not only refuted by his condition but is also logically impossible. The Qur’an itself challenged the polytheists, stating that they knew he neither read nor wrote, and if it had been taught to him by a human, it would have been in a foreign tongue, which did not happen.
