What is the ruling regarding women who were praying in congregation on the floor designated for them, then the electricity suddenly cut off during the Asr prayer, interrupting the Imam's voice? One of them then took over the imamate, but then the Imam's voice returned, so they resumed following him. Are they obliged to continue following her, and what is the ruling for one who intended to pray individually? And what should one do if they intended to pray individually and completed two rak'ahs, then the Imam's voice returned while they were still in the first rak'ah?

It is permissible for women to follow the Imam from another floor, and there is no objection to a woman who comes forward to complete the prayer with other women. It is also permissible for one who intends to pray alone to separate from the Imam. If the woman who had come forward to lead returns to the first Imam, then the following of those behind her by her becomes invalid, and it becomes valid for them to follow the first Imam. It is valid for a follower to follow the first Imam even if the follower has prayed two rak'ahs and the Imam has prayed one rak'ah. As for a woman who has completed her prayer, she may either give the taslim (salutation of peace) or sit and prolong her supplication until the Imam finishes his prayer, and she is not to follow him.
