If a Muslim wipes over his socks while traveling and then becomes a resident, or wipes while a resident and then travels, he should wipe as a resident, meaning for a day and a night. If he wiped during travel and the wiping period has ended, or if he became a resident and a day and a night or more have passed, then he should remove his socks and wash his feet.
