Is it permissible for a father to leave his home to live with his unmarried sister who lives alone?
If the father spends the night at his sister's house, leaving his wife displeased, this is not permissible. It is obligatory for him to spend the night with his wife in a way that fosters intimacy and removes loneliness. If the questioner's paternal aunt is not safe from temptation, then the father must not leave her alone; rather, he should house her with him or with one of her mahrams. However, if she is safe from temptation, there is no impediment to her living alone, though it is preferable for her not to spend the night alone. The father is advised to seek a righteous husband for his sister, and it is permissible to offer a woman to a righteous man for marriage.
