What is the ruling on a husband leaving his wife and infant alone and spending the night at his mother's, and what is the ruling on his desire for his wife to stay at his mother's for long periods despite her feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable? And how should the wife act without losing her husband? And is it permissible for him to take the son after weaning him and leave her alone? And is it permissible for the husband's mother to take the son as she wishes without the wife having the right to object?

There is no objection to the husband spending the night at his mother's house, leaving his wife and son at home, provided there is safety. There is no harm if the husband expresses his desire for his wife to spend some days at her family's house, but he does not have the right to force her to do so. The matter is up to her, and a woman is not obligated to obey her husband except in matters of marriage and its related aspects. If the child is an infant, the husband does not have the right to take him with him because he usually cannot do without his mother, and even more so his mother (the wife's mother). She does not have the right to take him even if he is not an infant without the consent of both parents, as long as the marriage is ongoing. It is recommended for the Muslim family to engage in understanding and dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of common interests, and to be cautious of anything that leads to discord.
