Playing electronic games is permissible as long as they do not contain any religiously prohibited elements, such as the presence of mosques, or the word of Allah (Allah's exalted name), or the name of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in a demeaning manner. If a game contains a forbidden part and the player bypasses it to the permissible, then playing it is permissible, but it is better to avoid it. However, if the game involves fighting mosques or attacking their inhabitants, then it must be boycotted, because it trains the player to commit disbelief and fight Islam.
