What is the way to resolve the ongoing dispute between the brothers that has lasted for three years?
Reconciling differences (Islah Dhat al-Bayn) is among the best righteous deeds, while corruption of relations (Fasad Dhat al-Bayn) shaves off religion. This is supported by the : "Shall I not inform you of what is better than the status of prayer, fasting, and charity?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Reconciling differences, for indeed, corruption of relations is the shaver. I do not say it shaves hair, but it shaves off religion."
The Shariah has strongly encouraged unity, cohesion, and good relations, especially among relatives, due to the obligation of maintaining kinship ties. They should be reminded of the danger of animosity. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The gates of Paradise are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and every servant who does not associate anything with Allah is forgiven, except a man between whom and his brother there is animosity. It is said: 'Wait for these two until they reconcile.'"
Furthermore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three nights, and the better of them is the one who initiates the greeting of peace.
The one striving for reconciliation should pray to Allah to guide his two brothers and should be wary of sins that may be a cause of hatred.
