Is it permissible to seek divorce from a husband who suffers from behavioral and psychological disorders, knowing that there are children who have started to exhibit some of the father's behaviors, and that the husband loves his wife and is not stingy with her in anything?

A woman is permitted to seek divorce if there is a valid reason for it, but she is not permitted to seek it without a valid reason, due to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any valid reason, the fragrance of Paradise will be forbidden to her."

If the husband is suffering from a psychological disorder, the wife is permitted to seek divorce. However, it is preferable to try to reach an understanding with him and endeavor to treat him through specialists. If he cannot be cured, then the wife chooses the lesser of two harms between divorce and remaining with him.
