The woman made a grave mistake by reconnecting with the man and going out with him, thereby opening a door to temptation for herself. Therefore, she must offer sincere repentance and be wary of following the footsteps of Satan, which lead to immorality, for adultery is one of the gravest immoralities. The vow to abandon sin is not binding and does not require expiation according to the majority of jurists; thus, sincere repentance is sufficient for her. However, some scholars hold the view that expiation is obligatory in this case, and performing expiation is more prudent.
