The answer

Qiyam al-Layl (night vigil prayer) is an act of devotion and obedience that only the successful (those guided by Allah) can consistently perform. It has numerous benefits and fruits, among them: it is a cause for entering Paradise and attaining Allah's pleasure, a means of showing gratitude for Allah's blessings and increasing good deeds, it brings the servant closer to Allah, forgives sins, and expiates evil deeds. It prohibits sin and indecency, expels ailments from the body, bestows light upon the face of its performer and earns him love from people, increases sustenance, exposes its performer to divine blessings and the answering of prayers, and earns him multiplied rewards, so he is written among the devout (al-Qanitin) or those who earn immense rewards (al-Muqantarīn) depending on the number of verses he recites during the prayer.
