What is the ruling on a woman delaying the completion of her recitation of the Qur’an at her wedding until her female relatives supplicate for her after the completion?

The invitation of women to each other to delay the completion of the Holy Quran until the wedding day, in order to supplicate for the bride, is a reprehensible innovation (bid'ah) that has no legal basis. It also constitutes an attempt to improve upon the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding the supplications for marriage. The best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, and the worst of matters are their newly invented ones, and every innovation is misguidance. Among the legislated supplications upon marriage are: "O Allah, I ask You for her goodness and the goodness of what You have instilled in her, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of what You have instilled in her," and "May Allah bless you, and bless upon you, and bring you together in good."
