How is the estate of a deceased woman distributed if she has no husband or children, but has one sister, and sons and daughters of paternal uncles?

The method of distributing an inheritance cannot be determined until the heirs have been identified. If the deceased left no one but those mentioned, then the paternal female cousins receive nothing, as they are not heirs. As for the sister, she receives half if she is a full sister or a paternal sister, and one-sixth if she is a maternal sister. The remainder after the sister's share is taken by the paternal male cousins by virtue of ta'sib (residuary heirship) if they are full brothers or paternal brothers. As for the maternal male cousins, they are not heirs, and in that case, the remainder reverts to the sister.
