When exactly should one grasp [one's hands] in prayer: Is it immediately after the opening takbir, or after sending down the hands then grasping, or is it grasping immediately without sending down the hands?

It is permissible for the worshipper to grasp his left hand with his right and place them on his chest immediately after the opening takbeer (takbeerat al-ihram), or to let his hands hang down and then raise them and place them on his chest. The first method is better and more correct. After completing the opening takbeer, he should place his hands below his chest and above his navel, which is preferable to letting them hang down entirely, or letting them hang down then bringing them back up.
