How does the soul depart the body if the body is disintegrated by an explosion or burned, and do these cases align with the known description of the soul's departure? What will be the fate of the bodies and souls of people when the Earth collides with the Moon at the end of time? Will the body be resurrected from the "tailbone" (عجب الذنب) in the gathering place (arḍ al-maḥshar)? And will souls at that time be in a state of stillness or aware of what is happening?

The torment and bliss of the grave are the torment and bliss of the Barzakh, which is the intermediary stage between this world and the Hereafter. They reach both the soul and the body, regardless of the manner of death. However, the Sharia has exempted the Prophets of God from bodily decay, as their bodies are not consumed by the earth. As for the souls of the deceased at the time of the horrors of the Hour, they will not be afflicted by terror, except for the martyrs among them, for they are alive with their Lord and are provided for. Furthermore, the horrors of the Hour, the rending of the heavens, and the like will occur after people are gathered at the Standing Place.
