Is it permissible to give zakat to orphans as a monthly salary?

Orphanhood is not a reason for eligibility for Zakat. An orphan is not entitled to Zakat unless they fall within the eight categories mentioned in the Zakat verse. If the orphan is poor, it is permissible to give the Zakat to their guardian, either as a lump sum or as a monthly allowance, according to their needs. It is not permissible to dispose of it except in a way that preserves and increases it for them.
