Is it permissible to offer dinner to those offering condolences from the deceased woman's money, and is it permissible to supplement the amount, should it be insufficient, from the money of her household or grandchildren?

The fundamental principle and Sunnah dictate that neighbors and relatives should prepare food for the family of the deceased, and that people should not gather at the home of the deceased to be fed by them, as this imposes a burden on them and contravenes the Sunnah.

If the deceased bequeathed that food be provided to the mourners, and there was no gathering for wailing, then his وصية (bequest) may be executed from one-third of his estate, unless the adult, sane heirs permit exceeding one-third.

It is not permissible for the deceased to bequeath the gathering of food for mourners after his death if the gathering involves wailing or innovation (bid'ah), due to it being an aid to disobedience.
