How was the Prophet's (peace be upon him) prayer for the Fajr Sunnah light? And did he limit it to fewer than three adhkar (remembrances)?

The prayer of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the Sunnah (definition) of Fajr was described as light, as he would pray the two rak'ahs of Fajr and lighten them to the extent that Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, used to wonder if he had only recited Al-Fatihah in them due to his extreme lightening. The Malikis inferred from this the desirability of restricting recitation to Al-Fatihah in the Sunnah of Fajr, while the majority prefer reciting Al-Kafirun and Al-Ikhlas (definition), based on what was narrated by Abu Hurairah. Lightening the Fajr prayer includes shortening the bowing (rukūʿ) and prostration (sujūd), and limiting the remembrances therein to what is sufficient or the minimum of perfection, because his guidance, peace and blessings be upon him, in prayer generally was close to equilibrium in its pillars. Ibn Uthaymeen emphasized that lightening in the Sunnah of Fajr includes both recitation and the pillars, along with limiting the glorifications (tasbīhāt) to the minimum of perfection, but lightening should not be at the expense of tranquility (ṭumaʾnīnah), which is a pillar without which the prayer becomes invalid.
