Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) only recite Surat Al-Fatihah in the two Rak'ahs of Fajr prayer?

There is no explicit evidence that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, restricted his recitation to Al-Fatihah in the two rak'ahs of Fajr. Rather, what is established is his lightening of them. The Malikis cited the hadith of Aisha as proof of the desirability of restricting recitation to Al-Fatihah silently in the two rak'ahs of Fajr. The majority of scholars disagreed with them, interpreting Aisha's hadith as indicating extreme lightening, given other hadiths that state he, peace and blessings be upon him, recited other surahs after Al-Fatihah in them, such as Al-Kafirun and Al-Ikhlas.
