Is the clothing worn by athletes and singers considered a garment of fame that is prohibited?

Moderation in dress is recommended, without extravagance, ostentation, or shabbiness. Wearing clothes of fame (libas ash-shuhra) is disliked, whether they are excessively luxurious or extremely poor, as they attract undue attention. This is because such attire deviates from the intended purpose of clothing and increases the likelihood of people engaging in backbiting. Fame (shuhra) is determined by what is customary in society; therefore, what is considered unusual or contrary to its customs is disliked. However, what people accept is permissible. The standards of dress have been influenced by the expansion of life and the openness of the world, making many types of clothing that were once considered shuhra acceptable now, provided they cover the 'awrah (private parts) and do not resemble the attire of disbelievers, women (for men), or the dissolute.
