Does the ablution of one afflicted by continuous flatulence become void if he intentionally expels wind, and what is the evidence for this? Is ablution required for every prayer, or can one pray with a single ablution so long as no other impurity, apart from the continuous flatulence, occurs? What is the explanation for the contradiction between these two opinions? Is it permissible to adopt the view of the Hanafis regarding the permissibility of performing ablution only before the entry of the Dhuhr prayer time?

Whoever suffers from سلس البول (urinary incontinence) or الريح (flatulence), if he experiences an emission other than his constant condition, then his ruling is like that of a healthy person, and he must perform ablution, for Allah does not accept the prayer of one who has an emission until he performs ablution. The purification of the excused person is tied to the time of prayer, so he performs ablution after the time of prayer begins and prays as many obligatory and supererogatory prayers as he wishes until that time expires. The opinion that permits the excused person to perform ablution before the time of prayer begins is not the more preponderant one.
