The aforementioned Hadith is authentic, having been authenticated by Al-Haythami, Al-Busiri, Al-Albani, and Ahmad Shakir. The apparent meaning of the Hadith indicates the virtue of Aden in particular. Ibn Al-Jawzi dedicated a chapter to it titled "The Virtue of Aden," and Al-Sa'ati included it in the chapter "The Virtue of Oman, Aden, and their People." As for applying it to current reality, one must pause and not make definitive statements without clear شرعي (Islamic legal) evidence. This is because applying probable texts to a specific current reality before their actual occurrence and fulfillment is considered "stoning the unseen" (guessing about the unknown) and speaking about Allah without knowledge. This was the practice of the Salaf (pious predecessors), who did not apply Hadiths about tribulations to present realities. Rather, they sufficed with authenticating the Hadith and explaining its unfamiliar terms, unlike some of the hasty individuals today.
