Am I obligated to offer expiation for an oath made in a state of anger and compulsion from Satan, by saying to my wife: "The living room is forbidden for me to enter with my feet," even though I have not entered it yet, and how can I dissolve this oath given my future need to enter it?

The prohibition of the wife depends on the husband's intention. If he intended divorce, it takes effect upon entering the room, and you may take back your wife if this divorce does not complete the three divorces. If he intended ẓihār (a pronouncement making the wife unlawful), it takes effect, and the expiation for ẓihār becomes incumbent upon him. If he intended an oath or did not intend anything, an expiation for an oath becomes incumbent upon him upon breaking it. It is permissible to retract the oath if he intended divorce, but not if he intended an oath by Allah Almighty or did not intend anything. An angry person is held accountable for what he utters if he is aware of what he is saying; otherwise, nothing is incumbent upon him.
