We advise you to persuade your mother to agree to your marriage to the person you have chosen, and to seek help from those who have influence over her. If she refuses without a valid reason, you are not obligated to obey her, nor will you be disobedient to her by disagreeing with her. A mother's supplication against her child is answered when he wrongs her or disobeys her. It is preferable that you obey your mother if you will not be harmed by not getting married, and you must honor her and obey her in what is right.
