What is the Shar'i ruling on what a wife does by not being pleased with her husband's family, due to the father marrying his son to another woman, and her refusal to speak with them or receive them in her home?

Islam encourages benevolence towards people in general, and towards relatives in particular. The husband's parents are more deserving of benevolence than the wife. This benevolence is recommended, not obligatory, for the wife, and she does not have the right to prevent them from entering her home.

She has the right to a separate dwelling where she will not be harmed, and she cannot be forced to live with the husband's parents. This is the view of the majority of jurists.

If the husband stipulated living with them, and then the wife requested separation, she does not have that right unless she is harmed. Some jurists hold that the husband is obliged to provide a separate dwelling if he is able.

The husband is advised to give his wife her right to a suitable dwelling, while also being benevolent and gentle towards his parents, especially in their old age.
