Is it permissible to work in the profession of repairing televisions, VCRs, and satellite dishes?

Manufacturing, repairing, and selling televisions, video players, and satellite dishes is permissible. However, it is not permissible to repair or sell them to someone known to use them for unlawful purposes, whether explicitly stated or inferred from circumstantial evidence. This is because such actions constitute cooperation in sin and transgression, which is forbidden by Allah's words: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." Given the predominant use of these devices for evil, it is advisable to abandon working with them and seek employment that is free from doubt, except in cases of extreme necessity, provided that one commits to not selling them to those who use them for disobedience.
