How does a Muslim feel that Allah is pleased with him?

A Muslim is keen to earn Allah's pleasure by doing what He loves and avoiding what displeases Him. This is achieved through belief in Allah, obeying His commands, and refraining from His prohibitions with sincerity and adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The sacred texts have clarified that Allah loves those who repent, those who purify themselves, the pious, the virtuous, the patient, the just, and those who rely on Him. He dislikes disbelievers, oppressors, aggressors, corruptors, and extravagant people.

The servant is not required to perceive Allah's pleasure with him, because acceptance is known only to Allah, and it is granted only to the pious. A servant cannot be certain of his piety in every action due to the imperfections that afflict the soul.

Therefore, a Muslim must combine fear of Allah with hope in His mercy and pleasure. He should neither feel safe from Allah's plan nor despair of His mercy. Allah has praised the prophets and righteous servants for their eagerness and awe, and the believers for performing good deeds while fearing Allah.
