What is the Shariah-compliant response to the message that speaks of properties for verses from Surat Ya-Sin, such as mentioning a specific number for each verse to achieve a certain purpose (like forgiveness, increasing blessings, healing, love, warding off fear, fulfilling needs, facilitating childbirth, etc.), or writing them in specific ways (such as on grave dust, or a yellow paper, or with rosewater, or with musk and saffron, or on a dead person's shroud)?

Specifying the recitation of a particular surah or a specific verse a certain number of times for a particular purpose is not permissible unless it has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Surah Yasin, like other parts of the Noble Quran, can be recited to seek assistance in fulfilling needs. However, it is not permissible to restrict its recitation to a specific number of times for which there is no evidence in the Sharia. Even more severe than that is dissecting it and repeating words from it that do not convey a complete meaning on their own. Indeed, performing such an act is undoubtedly an innovation (bid'ah); as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever introduces into this matter of ours anything that does not belong to it will have it rejected."
