Is it permissible for a man who committed adultery to marry the daughter of the woman with whom he committed adultery, and is it permissible to prevent him by force?

Scholars have differed regarding the permissibility of marrying the daughter of a woman with whom one has committed adultery. The Hanafis and Hanbalis held the view of prohibition, while the Malikis and Shafi'is permitted it. They also differed on the ruling concerning a fornicator marrying the woman with whom he committed fornication; the prevalent fatwa is that it is not permissible unless there is repentance and purification (istibra'). It is not permissible to accuse someone of indecency without clear proof, as Allah Almighty says: "And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them eighty lashes and never accept their testimony thereafter. And those are the defiantly disobedient." If the fornicator wishes to marry the woman with whom he committed fornication or her daughter, the woman's guardian has the right not to consent to her marriage to him. Forcible prevention is the prerogative of the ruler.
