What is the ruling on one who took revenge on someone who wronged him, then swore falsely on the Mushaf, and now regrets it and wants to repent and offer expiation?

Whoever sins against Allah or His creation, sincere repentance (Tawbah Nasuh) becomes obligatory upon them, which involves regret, cessation of the sin, and a firm resolve not to return to it, in addition to restoring rights. Swearing falsely upon the Qur'an is a sin that necessitates repentance; it is a binding oath. There is a difference of opinion regarding the obligation of expiation (kaffarah), but it is more cautious to combine both repentance and expiation. Maintaining prayers is obligatory at all times, and abandoning them due to sins is from the temptations of Satan.
