What is the ruling on obeying one's parents in going out with them for recreation in places where transgressions (munkarat) are prevalent, and am I obligated to enjoin good and forbid evil in this situation, even if my parents forbid me from doing so?

Obeying one's parents and treating them kindly is one of the most emphasized duties after the right of Allah, as long as it does not involve any disobedience to Islamic law. For there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. Therefore, it is advised to go out with them to foster affection. Enjoining good and forbidding evil are among the great duties of Islam. The lowest degree of this is to condemn it in one's heart if nothing else is possible. If enjoining good or forbidding evil would lead to a greater or equal evil, then condemnation in the heart is sufficient. Based on this, if there is no necessity to go out, then do not go out.
