How can the good tidings of a good end for the father be reconciled with his dream indicating the torment of the angels for him and his seeking forgiveness from his divorced wife?

A dream does not necessitate action, and seeing the deceased does not indicate the truthfulness of what they say; as Satan may appear in their form. There is no harm in generally asking for forgiveness for them, without mentioning the dream. Children and spouses can advise each other to do what benefits the deceased, such as supplicating for them, asking for mercy and forgiveness for them, and forgiving them. They should also be reminded of the virtue of honoring one's parents after their death, through supplication, seeking forgiveness, fulfilling their promises, honoring their friends, and maintaining kinship ties. However, writing a request for forgiveness on a paper and placing it in the grave is not permissible, due to the permissibility of digging up graves and because forgiveness is achieved sincerely without the need for writing.
