In which غزوة did Ali fail to accompany the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, to Medina?

The expedition during which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, appointed Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, as his successor was the Battle of Tabuk. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had appointed many of his companions to govern Medina during his expeditions, such as: Uthman ibn Affan in the Battle of Dhat al-Riqa', Ibn Umm Maktoum in the Battle of Badr, Zayd ibn Harithah in al-Muraysi', Abu Lubabah ibn al-Mundhir in the Battle of Banu Qaynuqa', Sa'd ibn Ubadah in the Battle of al-Abwa', Sa'd ibn Mu'adh in the Battle of Buwat, and Abu Salamah in the Battle of al-'Ashirah.
