What do you do about your family's insistence on playing music at your wedding and your mother's anger despite your attempts to stop them?

It is not permissible to listen to musical instruments or to use them, except for the daff (tambourine) for women at weddings, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Announce this marriage, and beat the drums (duffs) for it." Regarding the prohibition of other musical instruments, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There will be people from my Ummah who will consider unlawful sexual intercourse, silk, intoxicants, and musical instruments as lawful." And his (peace be upon him) saying: "Two sounds are cursed in this world and the Hereafter: a wind instrument at a time of joy, and wailing at a time of calamity." It is necessary to insist on prohibiting musical instruments at weddings and to explain the Sharia ruling to the family, replacing them with Islamic anasheed (chants). It is not permissible to please the mother by committing something unlawful, for there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator.
