What is the ruling on a divorced woman living in a house with her mother, grandmother, and her maternal cousin's daughter, when they have a neighbor who harms them with words and deeds, and has exposed part of their home? Is it permissible for her to leave the house and live alone in a house owned by her mother, especially since she fears fitna for herself? And does this affect inheritance?
Your neighbors should not harm you. You have the right to advise them kindly and remind them of Allah. If advice does not work, boycotting them can be considered if it is hoped to be beneficial; otherwise, it is better to conciliate them. Try to put up a barrier between you and your neighbors, and be keen on modesty and covering if the place is exposed. The خال (maternal aunt's husband) is not a mahram, and it is not permissible to uncover your face or shake hands with him in his presence. It is permissible for you to go and live in your mother's house if it is safe. Filial relation and inheritance are established between you, your father, and your mother. We advise you to strive for reconciliation between you and your father.
