It is forbidden to draw living beings that are complete in their creation, and the prohibition applies equally to those that have a real-world counterpart and those that do not. Animated drawings are permitted with certain regulations. Excluded from the prohibition are drawings with indistinct features, or those that are incomplete to an extent that life cannot subsist, such as drawing only the upper part of the body.
