What is the ruling on smoking, and is a smoker a squanderer or a fool? And what is the ruling on an Imam who plays "Kharbqa"?
The ruling on smoking is that it is forbidden due to the consensus of people regarding its harm and foulness. Its addict is disobedient and wastes his money on that which harms him. The aforementioned game, if it involves gambling or games of chance, or causes one to miss prayer times, then it is forbidden. It is not permissible for the Imam or anyone else. It is disliked to pray behind a wicked Imam who commits forbidden acts outside of prayer if another Imam is available, even though his prayer is valid.
