Is it permissible to give Zakat on money to a charity organization or to help the poor in Ramadan with food and sweets?

It is permissible to give zakat to a charitable organization if it is trustworthy and reliable, and the purpose of giving is to authorize the organization to disburse the zakat to its eligible recipients. However, it is not permissible to give zakat to the charitable organization's projects because zakat has specific recipients. As for buying food items and distributing them to the poor with the intention of zakat, it is permissible if there is a need or a prevailing benefit for the poor. It must be noted that depositing money in usurious banks is not permissible except in cases of necessity.
