Is helping a female colleague financially, who is in need and suffering from her husband's absence and difficult circumstances, considered unlawful (haram) or lawful (halal), especially given the approaches from other colleagues that might be for the purpose of exploiting her?

You should limit your conversation with her to what is necessary, and advise her to leave this unwholesome workplace if she can, while adhering to the full legal hijab and not speaking in a soft, enticing manner.
