A menstruating woman is not permitted to touch the Mus'haf (the physical copy of the Quran). However, she is allowed to recite the Quran without touching it. The presence of interpretive words in the margin of the Mus'haf does not permit touching it, because the ruling is based on the majority [of the text], and the words of interpretation are few compared to the text of the Noble Quran.
