What is intercession and what are its types? Is it specific to the prophets or general? Will the intercession of all people be accepted?

Intercession on the Day of Judgment is of two types: accepted and denied.

Accepted intercession is that which has been affirmed by the sacred texts, and it has several types: 1. The Greatest Intercession (Al-Maqam Al-Mahmoud): The intercession of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to settle disputes among people in the Great Standing. 2. Intercession for polytheists who committed grave sins: To bring them out of the Fire. 3. Intercession for groups whose good deeds and bad deeds are equal: So that they may enter Paradise, and for others who have been ordered to the Fire, to prevent their entry. 4. Intercession for groups to enter Paradise without reckoning. 5. The intercession of the Prophet (peace be upon him) for his uncle Abu Talib: To lighten his punishment. 6. The Prophet's intercession for permission for believers to enter Paradise.

Intercession for those with sins is not limited to the Prophet; rather, prophets, martyrs, scholars, righteous people, and angels also participate in it. Righteous deeds may also intercede.

The conditions for accepted intercession are three: 1. Allah's permission for the intercessor. 2. Allah's pleasure with the intercessor. 3. Allah's pleasure with the one for whom intercession is made.

As for denied intercession, it is that in which the condition of permission or pleasure is absent, such as the intercession of polytheists for their deities which do not benefit them. Allah has forbidden Paradise to disbelievers.
