However, this explanation is not considered the Quran and does not hold its status; rather, it is akin to the exegesis () of the Quran in Arabic. It is permissible for a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) and for disbelievers to touch a translation of the meanings of the Quran in a language other than Arabic, and to touch its exegesis in Arabic.
