If a husband leaves his wife for a period of four months, is the wife divorced?

A woman is not divorced by her husband leaving her for four months. However, if a husband swears not to have sexual intercourse with his wife for four months or more, this is an ila' (vow of abstinence). If the period expires and he has not had intercourse with his wife, he is given the choice between having intercourse with her and divorcing her.
