Is what the questioner did, aborting her fetus for fear of repeating her previous experience with the premature birth of her second son, considered Islamically permissible, especially with the poor security conditions and the unavailability of hospitals in her region?

It is obligatory for a woman who has aborted her fetus to repent to Allah. She is also liable for the blood money (diyah) of the fetus if its creation became apparent or if it exceeded the nutfah (sperm-drop) stage (after 40 days). Expiation (kaffarah) (freeing a slave or fasting for two consecutive months) becomes obligatory if the abortion occurred after the ensoulment of the fetus, and it is recommended to perform it before that.
