Is it permissible to enter a public auction for a car, with the assistance of the auction supervisor to suggest a suitable price for me without him being informed of the other bids, knowing that the car's price will be far from its real value, thus harming its bankrupt owner?

For a sale to be valid, the consent of both parties is required, based on Allah's saying: "unless it be a trade, by mutual consent, among you." A sale is not valid if the seller is coerced, unless the coercion is lawful, such as compelling a debtor to sell his property to repay his debt. However, a bankrupt person should not be forced to sell for less than the market price, as this would harm him. The property must be sold at its market price, immediately, and in the currency of the country. Therefore, if the auction harms the owner by selling his property for less than its market price, it is not permissible to participate in it. However, if the sale is at market price, there is no objection to it. It is permissible to seek assistance from the auction official if it is in the form of advice and is lawful.
