Is it permissible to lie to the teacher by feigning illness in order to perform Dhuhr prayer before its time expires?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A Muslim is not permitted to lie except out of a necessity that cannot be repelled without it, because lying leads to wickedness, which guides to the Fire. If a Muslim is compelled to do so, he must resort to Tawriyah (equivocation), by using a word that holds another, distant meaning which is intended. If Tawriyah does not suffice, lying is permissible when there is fear for oneself or others from severe harm.
