What is the ruling on one who died while fasting in a bathroom during the month of Ramadan?

A person's death in a specific place, time, or manner does not entail religious praise or blame because it is not an act of their own doing. This is unlike the death of a fasting person, for which narrations have mentioned its virtue, because they died while engaged in a righteous deed that was the seal of their life. Righteous deeds are those within one's capacity and to which Allah's ruling pertains.

A person's death while performing a righteous deed is a grace from Allah, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever fasts one day seeking the Face of Allah, and it is sealed for him thereby, will enter Paradise."

And his saying: "Whoever is sealed with the fasting of a day will enter Paradise," means whoever ends their life with the fasting of a day, by dying while fasting or after breaking their fast, will enter Paradise with the foremost ones or without punishment.

Every servant will be resurrected according to the state in which they died. So, if a person dies in a certain state, it means their life was sealed with it, and upon that state they will be resurrected.
