Is there a solution for the nervous disorder and anxiety that afflicts a person when boarding an airplane?
Perhaps the anxiety and distress experienced when boarding a plane stem from the expectation of a disaster, but this fear should not dominate. The cure lies in the certainty that calamities and death are in the hands of Allah. Nothing befalls a person except what Allah Almighty has decreed, as Allah the Almighty says: ﴿Say, "Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has decreed for us. He is our Protector." And upon Allah let the believers rely.﴾ [At-:51]. And as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Know that what has befallen you was not going to miss you, and what has missed you was not going to befall you." With this certainty, fear and anxiety will vanish, Allah willing, along with the guidance to supplicate, just as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated for Jarir ibn Abdullah al-Bajali, saying: "O Allah, make him steadfast, and make him a guide who is guided."
