Is it permissible to use cartoon images of animate beings after modifying them, such as by removing or blurring the head or eyes?

If you keep from the image what does not sustain life, then there is no harm. As for merely closing the eye or wiping it, that is not sufficient for life to remain with that, but the facial features can be completely removed.
