Is it permissible to say that the mentioned hadith is from the uncorrupted word of God in the Torah because it agrees with the Quranic verse, even though the Torah has been corrupted?
The stance on the revealed books to previous nations involves three aspects: 1. What is known to be true by the testimony of our : This is to be believed, and it is permissible to transmit it, such as the of the Jew about carrying the heavens and earths on fingers, and the hadith of stoning in the Torah, as long as it has not been distorted after the advent of our Sharia. 2. What is known to be false because it contradicts our Sharia: This is to be rejected and considered void, such as their fabrications against the prophets. 3. What is neither known to be true nor false: One should suspend judgment on this, neither believing nor disbelieving it. It is permissible to narrate it and find solace in it to alleviate discomfort, as long as it does not lead to confusion or contradict what is authentically established in our Sharia.
Some Companions, such as Ibn Abbas and Ibn Mas'ud, prohibited asking the People of the Book, due to the risk of falling into falsehood or believing in error, and because our book is newer and more truthful.
