Is the Hadith: "Whoever expands [his spending] upon his family on the Day of Ashura, Allah will expand [His provision] for him for the rest of his year" authentic?

The Hadith, "Whoever expands [his spending] upon his family on the Day of Ashura, Allah will expand [His provision] for him throughout the rest of his year," has not been authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Its chains of narration are extremely weak, and some of them contain individuals accused of fabrication. Practicing it was not known among the Salaf. Indeed, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah decisively stated that it is fabricated and that acting upon it is an innovation.
